Black Panther #39

Black Panther #39 is a single-issue comic book published by Marvel Comics.

This is from Christopher Priest’s highly acclaimed 1998–2003 Black Panther series — widely considered one of the best modern runs on the character.

In this issue, Black Panther (T’Challa) faces off against Iron Fist in a brutal “’Nuff Said” style fight. Iron Fist is not quite himself (mind control or manipulation is involved), leading to a high-stakes, no-holds-barred battle.

Priest’s run is known for smart political storytelling, deep Wakanda lore, and excellent character work. This particular issue is a fun, action-heavy spotlight that still fits into the larger arc. Sent from my iPhone
